NEK Successfully Concludes Its 2026 Summer Internship Programme

NEK’s Summer Internship Programme, aimed at students wishing to develop their careers in the country’s strategic energy sector, has come to a successful conclusion. Twenty young graduates from technical universities took part in the initiative; they put in a great deal of energy, discipline and responsibility, and gained valuable knowledge and practical experience. As part of the programme, the trainees worked on specific projects alongside their mentors, produced mock-ups and had the opportunity to compete for their first job at NEK and for an annual scholarship.

The young participants showed dedication and enthusiasm, taking an active part in events organised by the company. They took part in a community initiative involving the refurbishment of facilities and the construction of a rock garden in the village of Mala Tsarkva, demonstrating their commitment to the public interest.

NEK actively supports the new generation of engineers who will continue to contribute to the development of the energy sector in Bulgaria. The summer internship programme is establishing itself as a key tool for developing future talent in the energy sector and demonstrates that the company is not merely investing in young talent, but is giving them the opportunity to become part of its present and future.

The intensive training, combined with the mentors’ experience, prepared the trainees for the challenges of their future careers and established a genuine link between their academic training and the practical realities of the energy sector.
